Black Ram is a blended whisky from Bulgaria produced by Vinprom Peshtera, one of the country’s largest distillers and producers of alcoholic beverages.

The brand is one of the three expressions part of the Black Ram core range which also includes Black Ram Finest Selection, and Black Ram Blended with Honey.

History

Vinprom Peshtera, producers of the Black Ram brand of whiskies are based in Bulgaria. The company claims to have a rich experience and history in the alcoholic beverage industry that dates back by over 75 years.

Making Process

Black Ram is a Bulgarian blended whisky, and the lack of a concise set of parameters and legal standards. Vinprom Peshtera say they use a mash bill made up only of malted barley, and that they closely follow the distillation process used in countries such as Scotland and Japan.

The spirit is matured for at least three years in Bulgarian Oak barrels, in a location near the Rodope Mountains, a place associated with Thracian mythology and history.

Alcohol Percentage

The Black Ram blended whisky carries an alcohol strength of 40% ABV, the standard permissible limit in most whisky producing countries.
